Award-winning songwriter, Folkgoddess Diane Patterson sings the world awake with powerful voice, rocking guitar and revolutionary lyrics. Her sincere spirit and wild heart plant seeds of love and realness.

Patterson weaves her original Mystic Acoustic Americana music and unifying stories, planting seeds of love and revolution. Diane tours winters in Hawaii and summers in Europe and Scandinavia, and her favorite gigs are intimate house concerts.

Diane’s been performing at festivals and venues since 1989, beginning with co-fronting a world music band in Davis, then starting the award-winning Diane Patterson Sextet with three fellow songwriters and two percussionists, followed by 13 years of solo, duo, and trio work, mainly with Al Torre on guitar.

Diane tours winters in Hawaii and summers in Europe and Scandinavia, and her favorite gigs are intimate house concerts.

In April she returns to Sweden and Denmark for a 2-month musical tour of small venues and living rooms.

Diane’s latest CD, Satchel of Songs, will release in March 2022. It was recorded with platinum record-producer Mike Napolitano and features supporting vocals by the incomparable Ani DiFranco.

Patterson has also published five other solo CDs: Open Road (2018), Teach, Inspire, Be Real (2016), Build a Bridge (2013), Holy Days of Winter (EP 2011), World Awake (2010), and Hip the Hip (2005), but it is even more delightful to hear Diane play live.

It's an honor for me to open up for Diane Patterson. Skjølven performs her own compositions for song and frame drum played with hands. My songs are inspired by spiritual life, women's history, Viking Age and Nordic singing tradition.

The woman and the frame drum are an ancient tradition - a vocation - that goes back to priestesses, shamans and matriarchs in prehistoric times. I was drawn to my musical universe 2010-12 and have since composed over 60 songs primarily for vocals and frame drums.
